The Hangover: Ray LaMontagne & The Pariah Dogs

Now that what was hopefully a successful Saturday night is behind us, let’s turn to something a little more introspective. After a long night of libations and clever banter, what you need is something a little more reflective, possibly a little more soothing to the spirit.

For the first in a series of hangover helping tunes, I submit New York City Is Killing Me, by Ray LaMontagne. If you’ve had a hard night, or even better, a hard early morning, let it play. It may not relieve your headache like a Bloody Mary, but it will make for a more pleasant Sunday.

The entire God Willin’ and the Creek Don’t Rise album is tailor made for the morning after, but this song in particular is ideal. Mellow steel guitars, crooning vocals, and a vibe of self loathing provide the perfect hangover soundtrack.

So stay hydrated, pull the curtains, and pop your preference of feel good pills. You’ll feel better in no time.
