Stealing The Covers: Band of Horses, Georgia

Have we found the musical equivalent to spit-swapping, franch-kissin’ between two artists? Perhaps. It’s made better because we like them both in great measure.

Earlier this summer, Cee Lo Green (both Soul Machine AND Lady Killa) covered Band of Horses No One’s Gonna Love You. Twas exceptional. Now the boys from BoH have taken to recording Cee Lo’s Georgia (a track off his soon-to-be-released album Lady Killer). You’ll notice the University of Georgia Redcoat Marching Band tagged along. Am I to infer that a relatively successful indie rock band must acquire a FULL marching band to do their best Cee Lo impression? Apparently. Good thinking. Here’s Cee Lo’s original.

Before we get to the cover, an INLE Dedication (Kasey Kasem voice):  To the native Georgians . . . may you continue to be accustomed to low-flow toilets, droughts, drugs, rough sports weekends and humidity. I too am proud to say that I’m Georgia’s son. Godspeed.
