You might have heard this song accompanying the end credits on Bored to Death last week. Oh, and if you have HBO and aren’t watching Bored to Death, do yourself a favor. The Schwartzman, Galifianakis, Danson combo is comedic platinum. Back on point: I like Americana (whatever that actually means) and with the daylight getting shorter these days, this one seemed appropriate.
Obviously we understand the lyrics are just a clever, lyrical metaphor for “tough times” and we, like most people, are doing our damndest to avoid those. If you’re not, you should listen to this, cry a whole bunch, and then immediately start trying for a happier life. We’re guessing you’ll smile more.
Here’s some Josh Ritter from his spring release So Runs the World Away and some INLE encouragement to keep those chins up, turn on some lights, turn up the music and make the best of it. Safe travels, happy ears and good times, folks.
